I was born in Brisbane, Qld. in 1938. Met and married my hubby, Al, in Canberra and lived there for the next 20 years, both of us working for the Public Service. Had two 3-year terms overseas during this time, one to London and one to Greece. After coming back to Canberra, we decided to move to Brisbane to live in 1977. We have two children and 4 grandchildren, and they mean the world to us. I caught the bug for daylilies about 6 years ago, after purchasing one in a local nursery. Then I found out about Scott Alexander's place in Maleny and spent many happy hours there over the next few years, browsing and buying; while Al waited patiently, reading the paper in the car. As you can guess, he's not into daylilies; but he helps me with digging at times, and waters them often for me. I joined the Brisbane Daylily Society several years ago to learn more about daylilies and I enjoy the meetings and the people very much. I've done lots of things since retiring; sewing, knitting, quilting, and lately, scrapbooking. I enjoy meeting people and Al and I are also actively involved with our local church. |
