I'll be 60 years old and married for 40 years in '03. We have 4 children and 6 soon to be 7 grandchildren. Occupation is an RN. I'm now working in a Correctional Facility. I've collected Daylilies since 1996 when my sister got me interested with a membership in AHS. I had about 15 varieties then. Now I have 650+ CVs, down from 850. I love all types, especially spiders, doubles & dark coloured ones. I dn't do any hybridizing due to limited space (husband limits the space) and time. I do all the gardening, as my spouse is not interested in daylilies. We live on a ¾ acre plot on the water on Gwynn Island, VA which connects to mainland by swing bridge. It is about 30 mile North of Norfolk by water. Zone 8 (-12 to -7C). Winters are more ice storms than snow. We have hot humid summers (30 to 35C). Our soil is sandy. My hobbies in addition to gardening are family (I love those Grandbabies), pets, and boating. |
